When Ghostzapper won the American Horse of the Year title in 2004, he did so off just four starts, an unusually low number for the top honor in American racing. His feat was not unprecedented, however, as one previous champion was voted an American Horse of the Year title off just three starts. Name him and the year in which he took top honors.
