Jewel Princess could have been claimed for US$20,000 as a 2-year-old. She developed into a nice 3-year-old in a division dominated by 1995 American champion 3-year-old filly Serena’s Song, winning Grade 3 races on both turf and dirt. Her nine-length demolition of her field in the 1995 Linda Vista Breeders’ Cup Handicap (USA-G3) was a sign of what was to come, as at 4 she rose to the top of her crop in a campaign based primarily in California against an unusually deep group of West Coast-based older fillies and mares. She continued to race well at 5, winning two Grade 1 races that year. As a broodmare, she had only one minor stakes winner to her credit, but three of her daughters were stakes producers.

Prior to the 1996 Breeders’ Cup Distaff, The Thoroughbred Corporation (Prince Ahmed bin Salman) bought into the filly. She was ridden to her win in the 1996 Breeders’ Cup Distaff by Corey Nakatani. In 2000, in foal to Storm Cat, she was sent to the Keeneland November mixed sale and sold for US$4.9 million to Coolmore Stud managing partner John Magnier. The mare produced her last foal, the unraced Henrythenavigator filly Evropa, in 2012.
