Like his sire Afleet, A Fleets Dancer had more than a little of aggressive temperament, and warning signs were usually put up to keep visitors away from the front of his stall lest they be bitten. On the track, he channeled that aggression into an intense competitive drive which helped make him a Canadian champion. His stud career was brief as he became dangerous and had to be put down, and none of his foals approached his own talent.

Fun facts
- Edmonton Journal sportswriter Curtis Stock referred to A Fleets Dancer as a “carnivorous equine equivalent to [former boxing champion] Mike Tyson.” Tyson, considered one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time during his prime, had gained notoriety by biting off a piece of the ear of Evander Holyfield during a boxing match in 1997.
