Afflicted with a bad case of “seconditis,” Bag of Tunes came through with a major score only once. This was in the 1973 Kentucky Oaks (USA-G2), in which she upset the previous season's champion juvenile filly, La Prevoyante, by five lengths. She produced only one stakes winner but has bred on well through her daughters.

The last report of Bag of Tunes was as barren in 1992.
