A stayer of just below Classic stature, Baynoun missed landing the 1984 St. Leger Stakes (ENG-G1) by a neck to two-time English champion Commanche Run. He was exported to Brazil and sired three champions there in an uneven stud career, helping to extend the male line of the great Hurry On.

1984:

Connections

Pedigree notes
Baynoun is inbred 4x5 to 1945 Two Thousand Guineas winner and two-time English/Irish champion sire Court Martial. He is also inbred 5x5 to English and French champion sire Pharos. His dam, Busarella, is a daughter of 1967 English Horse of the Year Busted out of Danarella, whose sire, Dan Cupid, was a talented but wayward son of Native Dancer.
Danarella is a half sister to Damo (by Sicambre), second dam of 1986 Hardwicke Stakes (ENG-G2) winner Dihistan. The sisters’ dam, Arbela (by 1939 French champion 3-year-old male Pharis) won the 1961 Prix Fille de l’Aire.
Arbela, in turn, is out of Arbele (by Djebel), winner of the 1952 Prix d’Ispahan and Prix Jacques Le Marois. Produced from Marcel Boussac’s great broodmare Astronomie (by Astérus), Arbele is a full sister to 1948 French champion older male Arbar amd 1956 Prix Hocquart winner Floriados and a half sister to two-time French champion and 1946 English champion older male Caracalla (by Djebel’s sire, Tourbillon), 1946 Prix du Cadran winner Marsyas (by Trimdon), 1950 Oaks Stakes winner Asmena (by Goya II), and 1951 Prix du Lys winner Pharas (by Pharis).
