While Curalina won the Coaching Club American Oaks (USA-G1) on the basis of the disqualification of I’m a Chatterbox for interference, she was a good filly who who two Grade 1 races without needing any help from the stewards. Exported to Japan for broodmare duty, she has yet to be represented by a runner on the track.

Rated at 117 pounds on the 2016 World’s Best Racehorse Rankings for her runner-up performance in the Personal Ensign Stakes, 17 pounds below overall highweight Arrogate (who earned his rating in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, USA-G1) and 5 pounds below the top-rated older female on dirt, Beholder (whose victory in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff was rated at 122 pounds).
As an individual
A chestnut mare with a deep shoulder and straight hind legs, Curalina could handle fast and sloppy surfaces equally well. She ran only once at 2 due to what trainer Todd Pletcher termed “baby issues.”
As a producer
As of April 2021, Curalina has produced a 2018 Deep Impact colt that died, a 2019 Deep Impact filly, and a 2020 colt by Heart’s Cry.

Foaled in Kentucky, Curalina was bred by CASA Farms I. Purchased for US$125,000 from the 2013 Keeneland September yearling sale, she was owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. She was trained by Todd Pletcher and was ridden to her Coaching Club American Oaks score by John Velazquez. Following her racing career, Curalina was entered in the 2016 Fasig-Tipton November sale and was sold for US$3 million to Shadai Farm.
