Produced from a full sister to 1979 champion turf male Bowl Game, De La Rose likewise showed high-class form on dirt (including a second by a nose to Heavenly Cause in the 1981 Kentucky Oaks, USA-G1) but was at her best on turf and earned a title by defeating males several times, including a score in the faster division of the Hollywood Derby (USA-G1). The American champion turf female of 1981, she did well as a broodmare, but neither of her daughters carried on at the same level.
