Dedicate was not the most brilliant of runners, but his toughness, gameness and consistency made him once of Princequillo's best sons on the track. He was quite useful as a stallion in spite of siring a relatively small number of foals and left a lasting mark on the Thoroughbred by siring 1981 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year Natashka, whose family continues to flourish. He also sired Smart Deb, the American co-champion 2-year-old filly of 1962 and the dam of Logical, an important sire in Argentina.

As an individual
A bay horse standing 15.3 hands, Dedicate was a very well-balanced, correct, and smoothly made horse with fluent action, though he was repeatedly troubled by soreness in one hoof and did not care to have his races too close together. He had a good disposition and was game and honest on the track. He usually preferred to make his bid from a stalking position just off the leaders.
As a stallion
According to Jockey Club records, Dedicate sired 91 winners (69.5%) and 11 stakes winners (8.1%) from 135 named foals.

A half sister to 1943 Merchants' and Citizens' Handicap winner Lochinvar (by Case Ace), Dini was a durable allowance winner of 27 races. She was produced from the winning Display mare Quivira, whose dam Careful (by Wrack) is generally considered the American co-champion 2-year-old filly of 1920 and the American champion handicap female of 1922.
