Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Dreaming of Julia was bred and owned by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings. Stonestreet’s Barbara Banke has referred to the mare as her “birthday gift to myself” because of her decision to retain Dreaming of Julia instead of selling her as a yearling. Dreaming of Julia was trained by Todd Pletcher.
Pedigree notes
Dreaming of Julia is outcrossed through five generations. She is a half sister to multiple Grade 3 winner Dream Pauline (by Tapit) and to stakes winner Atreides (by Medaglia d’Oro). The siblings’ dam, Dream Rush (by Wild Rush), won the 2007 Darley Test Stakes (USA-G1) and Prioress Breeders’ Cup Stakes (USA-G1) and is a half sister to Adream (by Bernardini), dam of Grade 3 winner Song of Spring (by Spring At Last). Dream Rush is also a half sister to Eileen’s Dream (by Bernardini), second dam of Grade 2 winner Rhyme Schemes.
Dream Rush, in turn, is out of unraced Turbo Dream (by Unbridled). The next dam in Dreaming of Julia’s tail-female line, the winner Reve de Fee (by Mr. Prospector), is out of multiple stakes-placed winner Reine des Iles (by Nureyev), whose half sister Thelema (by Caerleon) is the dam of German listed stakes winner Themelie Island (by Montjeu).
