Egg Toss showed some talent during his racing career in the United States but was never able to get the job done in a black-type race. Exported to Argentina, he became a champion sire there and an important sire of broodmares.

Foaled in Kentucky, Egg Toss was bred by William duPont III. He entered stud at Haras La Biznaga, Argentina, in 1984.



Pedigree notes

Egg Toss is inbred 3x5 to 1937 American Triple Crown winner and Horse of the Year War Admiral, a champion sire and broodmare sire in the United States. He is also inbred 4x5 to 1929 American Horse of the Year and important sire Blue Larkspur. He is a half brother to minor stakes winner O’Bold Raider (by Reviewer) and to Amaretti (by L’Enjoleur), dam of restricted stakes winner Amarettitorun (by Ends Well).


Eggy, the dam of Egg Toss, won the 1972 Gardenia Stakes as a 2-year-old and is a full sister to multiple French stakes winner Juge de Paix (by Delta Judge). Their dam, the winning Blue Prince mare Egg Hunt, is a half sister to multiple stakes winner Me Brave (by Miles Standish) and is out of the winning Easton mare Easterling, whose dam French Flower (by War Admiral) is a half sister to Coquelicot (by Man o’ War), dam of 1944 American champion 2-year-old male Pavot (by Case Ace) and 1946 Choice Stakes winner Lovat (by Jamestown).
