A more talented if less consistent race mare than her dam, Exclusive Dancer was a quick filly who earned stakes wins at 2 and 3. As a broodmare, she produced one of Secretariat's best sons and stands at the head of one of two main branches of Exclusive's family.

Foaled in Florida, Exclusive Dancer was bred by Louis Wolfson's Harbor View Farm. She was owned by Happy Valley Farm and was trained by Ivan Parke and J. T. Davis. Following her victory in the Prioress, Exclusive Dancer was consigned to a horses-in-training sale at Belmont Park, where she went to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Firestone for a sales-topping US$130,000. She produced her last foal in 1991.
