Raise a Native (USA) x Exclusive (USA), by Shut Out (USA)
Family 10-a
Exclusive Native showed significant talent as a racehorse but was injury-prone. He rose from relatively modest early opportunities to become a two-time leading American sire. He will long be remembered as the sire of 1978 American Triple Crown winner Affirmed, one of the all-time greats, and of Genuine Risk, only the second filly to win the Kentucky Derby (USA-G1). He is also the sire of Roi Normand, a five-time champion sire in Brazil.

Assessments
Rated at 120 pounds on the Experimental Free Handicap for American juveniles of 1967, 6 pounds below champion Vitriolic.
Rated at 114 pounds on the Daily Racing Form's Free Handicap for American 3-year-old males of 1968, 16 pounds below divisional co-champion Stage Door Johnny and 15 pounds below the other official co-champion, Forward Pass.
As an individual
A muscular, lengthy chestnut horse, Exclusive Native had good speed and was game and determined when set down for the drive. He had a good shoulder, powerful hindquarters and a strong hind leg, but like his sire was a bit too heavy-topped for his underpinnings.
As a stallion
Records kept by The Jockey Club show Exclusive Native as the sire of 340 winners (65.5%) and 69 stakes winners (13.3%) from 519 named foals. Exclusive Native is a Classic chef-de-race in the Roman-Miller dosage system.
