Family 16-h
Speedy and precocious, Fasliyev went unbeaten in five starts in England, France, and Ireland as a juvenile in 1999 and was named Europe’s champion 2-year-old male. After fracturing a pastern in October 1999, he was unable to return to the races at 3 and went to stud instead. His first crop created a sensation with a world-record-tying 34 first-season winners, but he proved unable to sustain that early success although he remained consistent as an influence for speed.
