Talented but heavy-bodied, Flatter enjoyed only limited success on the track because of soundness problems. Nonetheless, he was probably at least comparable to his Grade 2-winning full brother Congrats in ability, and he became a good sire at Claiborne Farm. His progeny include 2017 American champion 3-year-old male West Coast and 2018 Canadian champion juvenile male Avie’s Flatter.
