Family 4-m
After ranking among the leaders of her crop at 4, Forever Unbridled made only three starts in 2017 but made them count. Her defeats of American champions Songbird, Abel Tasman, and Champagne Room helped her parlay a three-for-three season into an Eclipse Award as American champion older female. To date, she has been a disappointing broodmare.

Assessments
Rated at 119 pounds in the Mile category on the 2016 Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings, 15 pounds below overall hightweight Arrogate (the American champion 3-year-old male) and 3 pounds below American champion older female Beholder, who topped all females on dirt.
Rated at 119 pounds in the Mile category on the 2017 Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings, 14 pounds below overall highweight Arrogate (who topped the Mile category with a 131-pound ranking and the Intermediate category with 134 pounds) but tops among females on dirt.
As an individual
A strongly made bay mare, Forever Unbridled generally preferred to come from off the pace. She appeared to race best when given a good deal of time between races. She underwent surgery to remove a bone chip from her left front ankle between her 4- and 5-year-old seasons.
As a producer
As of October 23, 2024, Forever Unbridled has produced three named foals of racing age; none have won.
Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Forever Unbridled was bred and owned by Charles Fipke. She was trained by Dallas Stewart and was ridden to her Breeders’ Cup Distaff win by John Velazquez.
Pedigree notes
Forever Unbridled is inbred 4x4 to two-time American champion sire Mr. Prospector. She is a full sister to 2015 Ballerina Stakes (USA-G1) winner Unbridled Forever.
Forever Unbridled and Unbridled Forever are out of 2006 Kentucky Oaks (USA-G1) winner Lemons Forever, whose stakes-placed half sister Critikal Reason (by Aptitude) is the dam of listed stakes winner Bajan (by Speightstown). Lemons Forever, in turn, is out of multiple Argentine Group 2 winner Critikola (by Grade 1-placed Tough Critic, by Grey Dawn II), who earned two Grade 1 placings in the United States. Critikola is a half sister to Hola Que Tal (by Lode), the second dam of Argentine Group 3 winner Hello Nacho.
Hola Keats, the dam of Critikola, won two of her 12 starts. A daughter of 1975 Argentine champion older male Keats out of Hello Love (by Forli), she is a half sister to 1983 Premio Ayacucho (ARG-G2) winner Fray Amor (by Frari). Hola Keats is also a half sister to Hello Baby (by Proudest Roman), dam of 1985 Chilean champion older female Frau Heidi (by Frari) and second dam of 2003 Grande Prêmio Presidente da Republica (BRZ-G1) winner Mr. Carrea.
