A mare with no pretense of being anything but a selling plater on the flat, Forget became one of the best American hurdlers of the 1890s when converted to jumps racing. Following her retirement from racing, Forever became a foundation mare for the Whitney breeding program, successfully blending her toughness and stamina with the speed of her mates. Among her other accomplishments, she is the ancestress of North American champions Twenty Grand, Quill, One for All, Run the Gantlet, and Awesome Feather.
