Brilliant at 2 and 3 in Argentina, Freddy won five of his six races in his native country but proved completely unable to transfer his form to Northern Hemisphere in the United States and England; a knee injury suffered not long after his arrival in the United States may have been a factor. With his racing reputation destroyed, he was exported to Pakistan in 2008.
Race record

2002:
Honors
As an individual
A chestnut horse, Freddy was rather lazy at his work. He injured a knee shortly after being brought to the United States.
As a stallion
Freddy sired winners in Pakistan, but no statistics are available.
Connections
Foaled at Haras Carampangue, Freddy was bred by Antonio Gilberto Depieri. In Argentina, he raced for Caballeriza La Providencia and was trained by Josê Martins Alves. He won the Gran Premio Nacional under Jorge Valdivieso and was ridden to his triumph in the Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini by Pedro Roberto Robles. Following the Pellegrini, he was sold to Gary Tanaka and was sent to the United States in January 2003. In the United States, he was trained by Donald Burke II. He was sent on to England in 2005. In February 2008, Freddy was consigned to the Tattersalls Mixed Sale and sold for the equivalent of US$39,108 before being exported to Pakistan, where he stood at Dab Stud Farm.
Pedigree notes
Freddy is outcrossed through five generations. His dam, Folgada, is an unraced half sister to Casuarina Beach (by Lyphard), second dam of South African Group 3 winner Beach Goddess.
Folgada and Casuarina Beach are out of Vivre Libre (by Honest Pleasure), an unraced half sister to 1987 Trusthouse Forte Mile (ENG-G2) winner Vertige, 1992 Long Island Handicap (USA-G2) winner Villandry, and the good French hurdler Villez, all by Lyphard’s Wish. Vivre Libre is also a half sister to Venerie (by Relaunch), dam of multiple Italian listed stakes winner Rosi Zambotti (by Law Society).
Vivre Libre, in turn, is out of 1977 Prix de l’Elevage winner Valhalla (by Irish Sweeps Lincolnshire Handicap winner New Chapter, by Crepello), whose dam Varig was sired by 1950 Prix Royal-Oak (French St. Leger) and 1951 Ascot Gold Cup winner Pan II. Produced from Vale (by the good French stakes winner Verrieres), Varig is a half sister to 1976 English champion miler Vitiges (by Phaeton) and to 1973 Prix de Malleret (FR-G3) winner Virunga (by Sodium), dam of 1985 Prix Jacques Le Marois (FR-G1) winner Vin de France (by Foolish Pleasure), English Group 2 winner Vacarme (by Lyphard), and the good French hurdler Video Tape (by Cannonade).
