Freud was nowhere near the racehorse that his year-older brother Giant's Causeway was, but the relationship plus a Group stakes placing was enough to get him a chance at stud in New York. A consistent top-five stallion in the state, he has led the New York regional sire list six times and has sired a number of runners capable of competing at the graded or Group level in both North and South America.
