One of the best fillies to emerge from her tail-female line in generations, Gioconda showed speed as a juvenile but proved able to stay up to 2500 meters (about 1½ miles) in top company as she matured. She did reasonably well as a broodmare in spite of the fact that she was put to (at best) second-tier stallions throughout her producing career.
