Only a fracture of the left front cannon bone sustained during the 1982 Vosburgh Stakes (USA-G1) separated Gold Beauty from perfection as a sprinter in 1982, and the fleet filly’s efforts were rewarded with an Eclipse Award. She came back successfully at four. As a broodmare she proved remarkably versatile in a brief producing career, foaling a sprinter even better than herself in Dayjur and a high-class two-turn filly in Maplejinsky.
