Janeta's true merit may have been kept in the dark for betting purposes prior to the Kentucky Oaks, which she won at 13-5 odds over a field considered weak and without any standouts. She was also used to spring a betting coup at Butte, Montana, when she won a selling race there in July 1907. Never a top-class race mare, she made no impact as a producer.

Janeta produced three named foals, none of any significance as racers or producers.
Connections
Bred by F. E. Corigan, Janeta was owned by George Long, who sold her to the partnership of Cassin & Rogers. She was trained by R. I. Rogers. Later, Janeta was owned and trained by H. A. Cotton. Following her racing career, she passed to the ownership of John E. Madden. The last report of her was as barren in 1917.
Pedigree notes
Janeta's pedigree is outcrossed through five generations. She was sired by 1885 Saratoga Cup winner Bob Miles (also the sire of 1899 Kentucky Derby winner Manuel) from the English import Laurel, making her a half sister to multiple stakes winner Laureate (by Volante) and juvenile stakes winner Penrhyn (by Planudes). She is also a half sister to Laodice, dam of the stakes-winning steeplechaser Lysander (by Ogden).
A daughter of 1882 Craven Stakes winner Laureate, Laurel is out of the See-Saw mare Libration (or Liberation). The next dam in the tail-female line, Lady Kars, was sired by the King Tom horse Mogador out of Belle of Kars, by Knight of Kars.
