Family 2-d
Few mares have produced two champions in two different major racing nations. Even among this elite group, Joy Valley is unique. She became the first mare to be represented by champions in both South America and North America in 2000, when her daughter Riboletta earned an Eclipse Award as American champion older mare. The champion distaffer followed her year-younger full brother Super Power, who was Brazil’s champion 2-year-old male in 1998/99 and followed up by becoming Brazil’s champion 3-year-old male and Horse of the Year in 1999/2000 after sweeping Brazil’s Triple Crown. Joy Valley produced two other stakes winners, and there is some hope that her family will breed on well as it is already responsible for 2018 Grande Prêmio Cruzeiro do Sul (Brazilian Derby) (BRZ-G1) winner Olympic Hanoi.

Pedigree notes
Joy Valley is outcrossed through five genetations. Her dam Belle Valley (by 1985 Champagne Stakes, USA-G1, winner Mogambo, by Mr. Prospector) was a multiple Group 1 winner in Brazil but had no other important offspring.
Belle Valley is a half sister to Valley of Princess (by Waldmeister), third dam of Brazilian Group 3 winner Endless Beauty (by Roi Normand) and fourth dam of Brazilian two-time champion Perbene and Brazilian Group 1 winner Venatrix. She is also a half sister to First Valley (by Ghadeer), third dam of Brazilian Group 2 winner Jazz Band. The sisters were produced from My Valley, a French import by 1962 French champion 3-year-old male Val de Loir out of the Tourment mare Emmy. A half sister to 1957 Prix Chloe winner Amabelle (by Goyama), Emmy is from a female line tracing back to two-time French champion filly Mistress Ford.
