Although she was a full sister to Clausen Export, a multiple Group 1 winner over sprint distances, Just Lucky had speed but lacked her sister’s class. The situation was reversed after the two went to the paddocks. Clausen Export did well, becoming the dam of a Group 2 winner, but Just Lucky did better with four Group stakes winners to her credit, including two at the Group 1 level. Her last top foal, 2020/21 Brazilian Horse of the Year Janelle Monáe, lifted her dam to honors as the Brazilian Broodmare of the Year. It remains to be seen how well Just Lucky’s daughters will breed on.
