Kononkop exploded onto the Argentine racing scene during the last three months of her juvenile year, sweeping all three of her starts as a 2-year-old to earn a title as the nation’s best 2-year-old filly. She won once more as an early 3-year-old before her peers caught up with her, and after that she did not win again although she placed in two Argentine Classics. She is now a broodmare in Australia.

Kononkop’s first foal, a 2019 Australian-bred filly by Uncle Mo, went through the 2020 Gold Coast yearling sale in Australia and was sold for AUS$175,000 to Chinese buyer Qingcai Huang. She is also the dam of a 2020 Fastnet Rock filly which was an AUS$475,000 purchase for Annabel Neasham Racing and B. McGuire from the 2021 Inglis Australia Easter sale.

Kononkop was bred and owned by Haras La Providencia. According to the Stud Book Argentino (www.studbook.org.ar), she was sent to the United States in September 2017; after being covered by Uncle Mo on Southern Hemisphere time, she was exported to Australia in 2018.

Kononkop is out of Korea, who won the listed Premio Japan Racing Association in Argentina and was Group 2-placed.
