While Lady Reigh lacked the consistency to be a top runner, she had stamina and was hardy enough to make 23 starts as a 3-year-old. Aside from her Coaching Club American Oaks victory and a track record that she set at Narragansett Park, she was not particularly memorable as either a racehorse or a broodmare.
Race record
29 starts, 7 wins, 1 second, 5 thirds, US$23,185
1934:
Assessments
Ranked third among American 3-year-old fillies of 1934 by The Blood-Horse.
As an individual
A chestnut mare, Lady Reigh was backward as a juvenile and failed to win during her first season of racing.
As a producer
Lady Reigh produced eight foals, of which five started and won. Her important foals are as follow:
Connections
Lady Reigh was bred and owned by Elsie Cassatt Stewart (Mrs. W. Plunket Stewart), who also bred her first six foals. After failing to produce a live foal in 1942-1938, she produced the 1949 filly Brechin (by Rosemont) as the property of Mahlon Kline. She produced another foal, the 1950 Rhodes Scholar filly Rhodes Reigh, in 1950 and disappeared from the record books after that. Lady Reigh was trained by James “Sunny Jim” Fitzsimmons.
Pedigree notes
Lady Reigh is outcrossed through five generations but is the produce of two inbred parents, as her sire Reigh Count is inbred 3x3 to 1896 Two Thousand Guineas winner and two-time English champion sire St. Frusquin while her dam Laughing Lady is inbred 4x4 to 1873 Derby Stakes winner Doncaster. Laughing Lady, who was a non-winner and produced nothing else of importance, is out of Merry Sinner, by 1904 Preakness Stakes winner Bryn Mawr. The next dam in Lady Reigh's tail-female line, Merry Saint (by St. Leonards), is out of the English import Merry Dance (by Petrarch), a half sister to two-time American champion Ballot (by Voter) and to 1903 Gazelle Stakes winner Stolen Moments (by Kingston). Another of Merry Dance's half siblings, Ballet Girl (by St. Leonards), is the dam of 1937 American champion sire The Porter (by Sweep).

Lady Reigh is profiled in Chapter 6 of Avalyn Hunter's American Classic Pedigrees 1914-2002 (2003, Eclipse Press).
