The best racer sired by 1983 Polla de Potrillos (Argentine Two Thousand Guineas, ARG-G1) winner El Asesor, Latencia earned Argentine Broodmare of the Year honors based on her son Latency’s Horse of the Year campaign in 2007. Unfortunately, Latency made little mark at stud from limited opportunities, and it remains to be seen whether Latencia will have significant influence through her daughters.

Emotive is out of 1958/59 Brazilian champion 3-year-old filly Emoción (by 1943 Italian champion 3-year-old male and two-time Italian champion sire Orsenigo), a half sister to 1961/62 Brazilian champion 3-year-old male Emerson (by Coaraze) and to 1960 Grande Prêmio Ipiranga winner Empyreu (by Coaraze). Emoción, in turn, was produced from 1948 Argentine champion 3-year-old filly Empeñosa, who swept both the Polla de Potrancas (Argentine One Thousand Guineas) and Gran Premio Seleccion (Argentine Oaks) of her year and trained on to be a major winner in Argentina in 1949 and one of the best Brazilian-based sprinters of 1950. Empeñosa was sired by two-time Argentine champion sire Full Sail out of the Congreve mare Ermua. The female line traces back to the great Argentine foundation mare Ante Diem.
