A crack miler with blazing speed, Leroidesanimaux achieved quite a reputation in the United States and might have had an even higher one had he not been plagued with foot problems. Aside from champion Animal Kingdom, his American stud career was rather disappointing but in fairness was probably hampered somewhat by the financial issues surrounding owner Stonewall Farms, as he was not at all suited to the Florida market when moved there during the farm's financial struggles. His transfer to Lanwades Stud in England was attended by high hopes as many experts felt he would be better suited to the European market, but he died there after only three seasons at stud. He was able to serve only a few mares during his final season due to the injuries which eventually took his life.

As an individual
A handsome, lengthy, muscular chestnut with strong hindquarters, Leroidesanimaux had the rather flat withers characteristic of the Blushing Groom line. He was troubled by bad feet, which may have cost him the 2005 NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile (USA-G1); he had to be reshod in bar shoes prior to the race.
As a stallion
As of February 2021, Leroidesanimaux has sired 308 winners (52.4%) and 25 stakes winners (4.3%) from 588 named foals according to statistics compiled by The Jockey Club.
Notable progeny
Animal Kingdom (USA), La De Mercedes (VEN), Una Cabeza (ARG)
Connections
Leroidesanimaux was bred by Haras Bage do Sul. He was owned by T N T Stud (Goncalo and Regina Borges Torrealba), which sold an interest in the horse to the Haisfield family's Stonewall Farm prior to the 2005 NetJets Breeders' Cup Mile. He was trained by Bobby Frankel while in the United States. He entered stud in 2006 at Stonewall Farm's Kentucky operation and later moved to Stonewall Farm Ocala (later renamed HallMarc Stallions at Stonewall Farm) in Florida. He moved to Lanwades Stud in England in 2014 and died there in May 2016 from complications of minor injuries received in a paddock accident months earlier. His death was confirmed by Lanwades Stud on May 27, 2016.
