Love’s Hope was produced from Hope Bay, whose sire, the French import Tobago, won the 1960 Prix d’Ispahan (later a Group 1 race when the Pattern system was introduced in 1971). Hope Bay is a full sister to Etc., second dam of Argentine Group 3 winners Español and La Gaetina. The next dam in Love’s Hope’s tail-female line, Exenta, is by three-time Argentine champion Penny Post out of Excelensia, by the stakes-winning Blandford horse Diadoque.
