I believe it was Forego, who was voted Champion Older Dirt Male in 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977. In 1974 he was also voted top sprinter and also Horse Of The Year in 1974, 1975 and 1976. Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew took Horse of The Year honors away from him in 1977. TJ

No, it isn't Forego. To clarify, the horse I'm thinking of won exactly four championship titles during his career, though it didn't take him four years to do so.

Great horses, all, but no, no, and no. Remember, the horse I'm thinking of won exactly four championship titles. Secretariat and Affirmed won five each (including two Horse of the Year titles for each of them) and Kelso won 10 titles---five as Horse of the Year, four as champion handicap male and one as champion 3-year-old male. Keep trying---I promise, the answer can be found on the site.

Dr. Fager was another great one and earned four titles as a 4-year-old in 1968, but he'd previously earned his first title as champion sprinter at 3, giving him a lifetime total of 5 titles. Try again!

Another good guess, but Citation also earned five titles---two as co-champion handicap male, and one each as champion juvenile male, champion 3-year-old male and Horse of the Year.

Since I seem to have stumped everyone this weekend, I guess it's time for me to spill. The answer is L'Enjoleur, who was a unanimous choice in voting for all four of his titles---1974 Canadian champion juvenile, 1975 Canadian champion 3-year-old male and 1974 and 1975 Canadian Horse of the Year.
