He was imported to the United States in March of 2004 but made only one start there, running second to next-out Forego Handicap (USA-G1) winner Midas Eyes in an allowance race at Saratoga. He was sent to New Zealand for stallion duty but was not a success.

  • 2nd Gran Premio Polla de Potrancas (Argentine Two Thousand Guineas) (ARG-G1, 1600mD, Palermo)

Honors

Pellegrini Award, Argentine champion miler (2003)

As an individual

A handsome, muscular dark bay or brown horse, Mr. Nancho had neat, balanced action but did not have a particularly long stride.

As a stallion

Mr. Nancho sired 55 winners (26.1%) and three stakes winners (1.4%) from 211 named foals of racing age according to records compiled by The Jockey Club. None of his runners showed anything close to his own ability.

Connections

Mr. Nancho was bred and owned by Haras La Quebrada. He was ridden by Jacinto Rafael Herrera in all five of his Argentine starts. In March 2004, he was exported to the United States, where he was owned by Castletop Stable and trained by Stanley Hough. In 2006, he was exported to New Zealand, where he stood at Stoney Bridge Waikato. His last foals were registered in 2012.
