A juvenile stakes winner in Canada, Nangela got off to an excellent start as a broodmare by producing 1973 Canadian champion 3-year-old filly and “Genetic Gem” Square Angel as her first foal. She never reached the same heights again as a producer but produced three other daughters that had success as broodmares.

Produced from the English import Great Niece (a full sister to 1967 French champion miler and successful sire Great Nephew, by Honeyway x Sybil's Niece), Angela's Niece is also a half sister to Gay Niece (by Sir Gaylord), second dam of 1987 William Hill Futurity Stakes (ENG-G1) winner Emmson and French Group 3 winner Family Friend. The female line traces back to the great Pretty Polly, one of the best race mares in English history and an early 20th-century foundation mare.
