A half sister to 1960 Canadian Horse of the Year Victoria Park and an “aunt” of 1968 Canadian Horse of the Year Viceregal, Northern Queen was not quite on the same level but was still good enough to be a Canadian Classic winner and champion. She was a moderately successful broodmare and has continued a branch of the family E. P. Taylor’s foundation mare Iribelle

- Against All Flags (1973, by Hoist the Flag) won a division of the Yearling Sales Stakes at Fort Erie as a 2-year-old and was Grade 3-placed. She is the dam of stakes winner Dewan’s Flag (by Dewan) and is the second dam of 1997 Brazilian Mare of the Year Bandeira Nativa, Grade 2 winner Recoup the Cash, and Grade 3 winner Jodi’s Sweetie. She is also the third dam of Grade 2 winner Summer Applause.
