Not for Sale’s name is rather ironic as he went through numerous changes of ownership and management during his careers as a racer and stallion. For most of his racing career, he looked like a well-bred disappointment. He finally came through with a Grade 1 sprint win as a 5-year-old, earning a place at stud. That chance was all he needed. The Argentine champion sire of 2014, Not for Sale earned two Pellegrini Awards as Argentina’s “Stallion of the Year” based on the accomplishments of his progeny.
