Parade Marshal was a rather modestly talented racehorse in the United States, but he had enough of both racing performance and pedigree to be attractive to the export market. Sent to Argentina, he did well as a sire there without quite reaching the top. He begot a sire son better than himself in Argentine Group 1 winner Not for Sale, a two-time winner of the Pellegrini Award as Argentina’s “Stallion of the Year.”
Race record
17 starts, 4 wins, 3 seconds, 0 thirds, US$184,644

Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Parade Marshal was bred by Mrs. John Hay Whitney (née Betsy Cushing Roosevelt). He was trained by Robert Reinacher Jr. In 1990, he was exported to Argentina, where he stood at Haras El Candil. Partway through the 1995 Southern Hemisphere breeding season, he moved to Haras Firmamento, where he stood through 2002. He covered a few mares at Haras Firmamento in 2003 before moving to Haras Vacación, where he stood the remainder of the season. He then moved to Haras La Esperanza, where he died of the infirmities of old age in October 2004.
Pedigree notes

He is a half brother to 1978 Saranac Stakes (USA-G2) winner and 1985 American champion sire Buckaroo (by Buckpasser) and to Flare Pass (by Buckpasser), second dam of Grade 2 winners True Flare and Apple of Kent and Grade/Group 3 winners War Zone, Capital Secret, and Set Alight and third dam of 2006 Malibu Stakes (USA-G1) winner Latent Heat, Grade 2 winner Indian Flare, and multiple Grade/Group 3 winner Art Master.
