In a nine-race career, Paris Lights had one big moment when she came home first in a relatively weak edition of the classic Coaching Club American Oaks (USA-G1). Her Grade 1 win, combined with her status as a member of one of the best Thoroughbred families on the planet, paid off when she topped the 2021 Keeneland November sale at $3.1 million. She is now a young broodmare.

As an individual
A good-sized, scopy, smoothly made bay mare, Paris Lights has an excellent shoulder and prominent withers. She raced best when tracking the early pace and showed marked determination when set down for a drive.
As a producer
Paris Lights has yet to be represented by a runner on the track. She produced her first foal, an Into Mischief filly, on February 7, 2023.
Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Paris Lights was bred by WinStar Farm and was campaigned by the racing partnership WinStar Stablemates. She was trained by Bill Mott and was ridden to her Coaching Club American Oaks score by Tyler Gaffaleone. Following her racing career, she was sold to Spendthrift Farm for $3.1 million at the 2021 Keeneland November mixed sale.
Pedigree notes
Paris Lights is inbred 3x5 to two-time American champion sire Mr. Prospector and 5x5x5 to Mr. Prospector’s paternal grandsire, two-time American Horse of the Year Native Dancer. She is the first foal of Paris Bikini, whose half sister America (by A.P. Indy) won the 2015 Turnback the Alarm Handicap (USA-G3) and is the dam of multiple Grade 3 winner First Captain (by Curlin).
Paris Bikini is out of listed-stakes-placed Lacadena (by Fasliyev), whose Group 3-placed half sister Sapphire Pendant (by Danehill Dancer) is the dam of multiple French Group 3 winner Ecrivain (by Lope de Vega). The sisters are out of Butterfly Blue (Sadler’s Wells x Blush With Pride, by Blushing Groom), whose Group 1-placed full sister Maryinsky is the dam of 2007 European co-champion 3-year-old filly Peeping Fawn (by Danehill) and 2007 Criterium International (FR-G1) winner Thewayyouare (by Kingmambo). Butterfly Blue is also a half sister to 2007 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year Better Than Honour (by Deputy Minister); to French Group 2 winner Smolensk (by Danzig), dam of Grade 3 winner Can the Man (by Into Mischief) and listed stakes winner Martha’s Moon (by Malibu Moon); and to Irish Group 3 winner Turnberry Isle (by Deputy Minister).
