An import from Argentina to Peru, Postín was a top-class racehorse in his adopted country but achieved far more as a sire. A six-time champion sire in Peru, he was also a champion three-time broodmare sire and had an impact on the international scene through his champion daughter Pamplona II. He continued his male line through his champion sire son Parrot, and his son Pertinaz also sired champions in Peru.
