As an individual

Pryka had tremendous speed but did not stay beyond 1400 meters and liked shorter distances better. She handled both dirt and turf well.

As a producer

Pryka produced four named foals. Only one, the 2011 Dubawi mare Pacquita, was a winner, and Pacquita’s only named foal failed to win.

Connections

Pryka was bred by Haras Don Arcangel and raced in the colors of Caballeriza Vacación. She was trained by Juan Bautista Udaondo and was ridden throughout her championship season by Pablo Gustavo Falero. As a broodmare, she was owned by Darley.

Pedigree notes

Pryka is inbred 3x4 to the breed-shaping sire Northern Dancer, the 1964 Canadian Horse of the Year and American champion 3-year-old male. She is also bred 4x5 to the important stallion Turn-to and 5x5 to two-time American Horse of the Year Native Dancer. She is a half sister to 2007 Premio Benito Lynch (ARG-G3) winner Menta Fresca (by Salt Lake).

Pryka was produced from Gold Rule, a half sister to multiple Japanese listed stakes winner Raise Suzuran (by Woodman). Their dam, Sintanous (by Danzig), is a full sister to 1984 Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes (USA-G1) winner Contredance, to Group 2-placed English stakes winner Old Alliance, and to Nimble Feet, dam of 1994 Royal Lodge Stakes (ENG-G2) winner Eltish (by Cox’s Ridge), 1995 Los Angeles Handicap (USA-G3) winner Forest Gazelle (by Green Forest), and listed stakes winners Souplesse (by Majestic Light) and Light Step (by Nureyev). Sintarous is also a half sister to 1991 Rolling Green Handicap (USA-G3) winner Shotiche (by Northern Dancer) and to multiple Grade 2 winner Skimble (by Lyphard), dam of two-time Pacific Classic Stakes (USA-G1) winner Skimming (by Nureyev) and second dam of Grade 3 winner Center Aisle. In addition, Sintarous is a half sister to Flit (by Lyphard), dam of 1999 One Thousand Guineas (ENG-G1) winner Wince (by Selkirk) and hurdle stakes winner Ulundi (by Rainbow Quest) and second dam of 2004 Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks (ENG-G1) winner Quiff and English Group 3 winner Half Glance. Another half sister to Sintanous, stakes-placed Nimble Mind (by Lyphard), is the second dam of 2013 Gamely Stakes (USA-G1) winner Marketing Mix. Finally, Sintanous is a half sister to Navarene (by Known Fact), second dam of English Group 3 winner Tranquil Tiger.

Sintanous and her siblings are out of unraced Nimble Folly (by Cyane), whose full sister Misgivings won the 1978 Chrysanthemum Handicap (USA-G3) and produced 1986 Chevington Stud Rockfel Stakes (ENG-G3) winner At Risk (by Mr. Prospector). Produced from Instant Sin (Restless Native x Enchanted Eve, by Lovely Night), Nimble Folly is also a full sister to stakes-placed Canoodling, dam of listed stakes winner Keiai Sakura (by Petionville), and to stakes-placed Menage a Trois, second dam of 2001 Ecuadorean champion imported handicap horse Azulako, multiple Grade 1 winner Lazy Slusan, and Peruvian Group 2 winner Fazel. Another full sister to Nimble Folly, Lush Pad, is the second dam of 1996 Malibu Stakes (USA-G1) winner King of the Heap.
