A major contributor to Bold Ruler’s reputation for siring brilliant juveniles, Queen of the Stage also contributed to his reputation for siring juveniles that flopped at 3—perhaps unjustly, as the filly had wrenched an ankle in her last start at 2. In any event, her glory days were behind her, as she was a better racer than broodmare.
