A game and consistent runner, Rosemont was not quite of championship class but could be dangerous at any time, a fact he established by defeating champions Nellie Flag, Omaha, Discovery and Seabiscuit during the course of his career. He was a good stallion despite subnormal fertility, but his best son, 1955 Travers Stakes winner Thinking Cap, proved unable to sustain the Ben Brush male line. As a sire, Rosemont is best known as the sire of two-time American champion Bed o' Roses and the maternal grandsire of 1960 American champion 3-year-old filly Berlo.
