He is a half brother to Loneliness (by Ayrshire), whose French-bred son Rivadavia (by Pietermaritzburg) led the Chilean general sire list in 1920 under the name of “Pioneer.” He is also a half sister to Gitanilla (by Simonside), ancestress of 1981 American champion 3-year-old male and important sire Pleasant Colony.
Wolf's Cry, the dam of Saint Wolf, was produced from the Distin mare Stourfield. The next dam in Saint Wolf's tail-female line, Avonwick, is by See Saw out of Avondale, by Ratan.
