A specialist turf sprinter, Tamaizov flashed top-class ability but was not very consistent and was better over 1000 meters (about 5 furlongs) than 1200 meters (about 6 furlongs); he was never tried beyond 1400 meters (about 7 furlongs). He scored his biggest win in the 2001 Gran Premio Estrellas Sprint (ARG-G1), the Argentine equivalent of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (USA-G1). He was sent to the United States but made only one start there before being exported to Australia, where he was not a success as a sire.
