A winner on the track, Take a Stand had a satisfactory production record but is best known for two important broodmare daughters. One, Strike a Pose, was the foundation for much of the later success of Pin Oak Stud. The other, Stage Luck, is the dam of two-time American champion filly Open Mind. Several other daughters also contributed to the family reputation, and today, Take a Stand's family is one of the few still flourishing that is descended from one of the old American families of the 19th century.
