Tiger Ridge had his excellent pedigree to thank for his getting any chance at stud at all, for he was a poor racehorse. He proved a far better sire than runner, especially following his export to South Africa in 2006.

Foaled in Kentucky, Tiger Ridge was bred by William S. Farish III and William S. Kilroy. He entered stud in Florida at Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds/Walmac South in 2001. In 2006, he was sold to Mary Stack's Wilgerbosdrift Stud and exported to South Africa. He died of a heart attack in January 2014.
