Family 13-c
Tudor Queen did most of her racing in Canada, but she did enough in the United States in a weak juvenile filly division to be crowned the champion juvenile filly of both the United States and Canada in 1969. She had some success as a racer at 3 and 4 but not at the same level and was a disappointing broodmare.

As an individual
A well-balanced, medium-sized chestnut filly, Tudor Queen was graceful and feminine in make but resolute and courageous on the track. She had fairly good bone and was a good doer.
As a producer
Tudor Queen produced four named foals. Her only winner on the track was stakes-placed Mr. Senator (by One for All). Her only daughter, Royal Blue Jay (by One for All), was of no importance as a producer.
Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Tudor Queen was bred by Mrs. A. G. Daniels. A US$11,000 yearling purchase from the Keeneland sales, she was owned by John H. Stafford's Stafford Farm and was trained by Gill H. Rowntree. All of her foals were bred by Stafford Farm.
Pedigree notes
Sired by 1954 Eclipse Stakes winner King of the Tudors (by Tudor Minstrel), Tudor Queen is inbred 4x4 to six-time English/Irish champion sire Hyperion, 5x4 to English and French champion sire Pharos, 5x5x5 to Hyperion’s sire Gainsborough (the English Triple Crown winner of 1918), and 5x5 to two-time English/Irish champion sire Phalaris and the important broodmare Scapa Flow. She is a half sister to 1975 Las Palmas Handicap (USA-G3) winner Charger’s Star (by Pia Star).
Royal Dowry, the dam of Tudor Queen, is a half sister to stakes winners Mr. Hingle (by Bald Eagle) and Queen Janine (by Tompion) and to Dear April (by My Babu), dam of 1974 Irish champion 2-year-old filly Highest Trump (by Bold Bidder), 1967 Santa Barbara Handicap winner April Dawn (by Gallant Man), and Hurry Up Dear (by Dark Star) and second dam of Grade 2 winner Winglet and Irish Group 3 winners Dance Bid and Northern Plain. Returning to Royal Dowry, she is also a half sister to Quebabu (by My Babu), dam of the minor stakes winner Bold Move (by Bold Hour) and third dam of Grade 3 winner Formal Tango.
Royal Dowry, in turn, is out of the winning Alibhai mare Querida, whose half sister Manzana (by Count Fleet) is the dam of 1961 Alcibiades Stakes winner Journalette (by Summer Tan) and the second dam of 1972 American champion older female Typecast, English Group 2 winner Straight as a Die, and 1967 Alcibiades Stakes winner Lady Tramp. The sisters are out of 1943 American co-champion 2-year-old filly Durazna, a daughter of Bull Lea out of two-time American champion Myrtlewood and, thus, a half sister to 1942 Kentucky Oaks winner Miss Dogwood (by Bull Lea’s sire Bull Dog) and several other important producers.
