While Tumble Lark was as sound and durable as his champion sire T. V. Lark, he had nowhere near the same level of talent. The best he could do during his busy racing career was to place in three stakes races. He was exported to Brazil in 1973 and there found much greater success as a stallion, leading the Brazilian general sire list three times.

According to records kept by The Jockey Club, Tumble Lark sired 97 winners (20.6%) and 26 stakes winners (5.5%) from 470 named foals; these records may be incomplete. Great Thoroughbred Sires of the World (Churchill, Reichard and Rogers) credits Tumble Lark with 35 stakes winners.
