A Group 1 winner on both dirt and turf, Valenti showed enough form as a miler to rank at the top of his crop in Argentina at both 2 and 3. He was unable to recover his previous form after being exported to the United States and from there was sent to Japan for stallion duty. He sired only 23 foals in his new home, and none of them displayed anything close to his own ability.

In the United States, he was owned by Kanichi Yokose and trained by Gloria Megumi Abrams. He was sent to Japan in 1994, and his last foals appear to have been registered in 1998.
Pedigree notes
Valenti is inbred 5x4x5 to five-time American champion sire Nasrullah (who also led the combined English/Irish general sire list in 1951) and 5x5 to 1925 St. Leger Stakes winner Solario, a champion sire and broodmare sire in England. He is a half brother to Group 3-placed listed stakes winner Varonil (by Equalize).
Vendome, the dam of Valenti, is a winning half sister to 1977 Premio Canada (ARG-G3) winner El Vistobueno (by El Curaca). She is also a half sister to Val d’Isere (by Utopico), dam of multiple Argentine Group 3 winner Valdemosa (by Ringaro), second dam of 1994 Derby Italiano (ITY-G1) winner Time Star and Argentine Group 2 winners Valor Oro and Vogue Star, and third dam of 1997 Gran Premio Enrique Acebal (ARG-G1) winner Victory Stripes, Argentine Group 2 winners Valid Stripes and Vogue Sunset, and Chilean Group 2 winner Val Saint Lambert.

Fun facts
- The listing of Valenti as the Argentine champion juvenile male and Argentine champion 3-year-old male in 1980 is not in error; it is an artifact of the Argentine racing year, in which the important races for 2-year-olds are clustered in the last few months of their juvenile season (March through June) and the most important races for 3-year-olds are clustered in Argentina’s spring and early summer (September through December). Although 3-year-olds can and do race on in their own division until June 30 of the following calendar year (after which they become 4-year-olds by Southern Hemisphere reckoning), the top 3-year-olds usually get a break following the rich Gran Premio Carlos Pellegrini card (which is loaded with important races for horses 3 and up) in December, and so the racing in September through December is used to decide the Pellegrini Awards for the sophomore championships.
