Wild Applause emulated her dam Glowing Tribute by winning the 1984 Diana Handicap (USA-G2), a race Glowing Tribute had won eight years earlier. She also followed in her dam's hoofprints by becoming an excellent broodmare. While she was not quite able to capture a Broodmare of the Year title, her total of four Graded winners, including a Grade 1 winner and a champion sire, was more than most mares ever come close to achieving. Further, she has bred on through four daughters.
