As an individual
A robust gray horse, With Approval stood 16.1 hands. He had a powerful, well-sloped shoulder and a strong, straight hind leg. A strong galloper, he never won a stakes event at less than a mile and was at his best on firm turf. He was also one of those horses who saw no sense in putting out more effort than necessary and often cut his finishes fine, a habit that earned him the nickname, “The Cardiac Kid.” Around the barn, he had a laid-back disposition but was very inquisitive and would become annoyed if not given time to satisfy his curiosity about anything new that he saw.
