A US$8,000 bargain as a yearling, Wonder Lady Anne L matured into a good staying filly but was rather unpredictable as to when and where she would unleash her best efforts. As of May 2022, she has not produced anything of significance as a broodmare, perhaps as a consequence of her weak distaff-side pedigree.

Assessments
Rated at 115 pounds on the Experimental Free Handicap for American juvenile fillies of 2005, 8 pounds below champion Folklore.
As an individual
A bay mare, Wonder Lady Anne L, became more erratic in her training as her career progressed. She handled both fast and off going well. She was normally a come-from-behind runner but pressed the pace in the Coaching Club American Oaks, which proved to be her last career victory.
As a producer
As of May 2022, Wonder Lady Anne L has produced six named foals, of which five have started and four have won. None of her foals have achieved any great significance as racers or producers thus far.
Connections
Foaled in Kentucky, Wonder Lady Anne L was bred by Dan White and Highland Farm. She was sold for US$3,500 at the 2003 Keeneland November mixed sale and fetched US$8,000 when resold at the 2004 Ocala Breeders’ Sales August yearling sale. She began her racing career in the silks of Rey Wan Racing and broke her maiden in her third start before being sold to Sanford Robbins, who ran her in the Astarita Stakes and then brought in IEAH Stables, Jachlen Farm, and Orchard Kids Stable as partners. She was initially trained by Timothy Ritvo and was moved to the barn of Richard Dutrow Jr. after her third race, though she was saddled by Dutrow’s assistant Juan Rodriguez for the Astarita because Dutrow was serving a suspension. She was ridden to her Coaching Club American Oaks score by Edgar Prado. After producing three foals, Wonder Lady Anne L was sold privately to Japanese interests.
Pedigree notes
Wonder Lady Anne L is inbred 5x5 to 1958 Canadian Horse of the Year Nearctic. She is a half sister to Anchuras (by Deep Impact), dam of Japanese listed stakes winner Anticipate (by Rulership). She is out of Ancho, an unraced daughter of the very quick Wild Again horse Wild Zone and a half sister to Legendary Stacey (by Include), dam of stakes winner Lezendary (by Zensational).
Ancho and Legendary Stacey are out of listed stakes-placed Ruth Ann d’Or, a full sister to restricted stakes winner Tour Time and a half sister to listed stakes winner O’Rocky (by Birdonthewire). Sired by the listed stakes winner and useful Florida sire Tour d’Or (by Medaille d’Or), Ruth Ann d’Or, in turn, is out of stakes-placed Loudmouth Time, whose sire Honey Jay (by Double Jay) won three sprint stakes and was a top regional sire in Ohio.
Loudmouth is a full sister to restricted stakes winner Fair While and a half sister to restricted stakes winner Jabunny (by Plunk). The sisters are out of Baby Martini (by 1970 Saratoga Special winner Three Martinis), a winning half sister to juvenile stakes winner Ol’ John (by Hy Frost). This is a female line that had earlier produced the decent handicappers Yellmantown and Great Union but had not come up with a first-class horse since Escuina, 10th dam of Wonder Lady Anne L, produced two-time American champion Bateau.
