The first Belmont Stakes “spoiler” in American racing history, Bounding Home turned back the Triple Crown bid of Pensive by half a length, notching his only stakes win in the process. His upset win proved his only claim to fame, as he failed to build on his important victory and died in training as a 6-year-old.
